Artist For Hire
Matt Syrett, Co-Founder and Lead Artist at Table Flip Games, will give a breakdown of his path to working in videogames from completing university in 2011, to now working as a freelance environment artist, indie game developer and university lecturer. This includes his work as part of Table Flip Games, their game Sure Footing, and how he builds tools and processes for a variety of video game projects.
Matt graduated with a BA Computer Games Modelling and Animation from the University of Derby and MA in Animation and Special Effects from Sheffield Hallam University back in 2014. Since graduating Matt has worked as a freelance environment artist for visualization and for outsource company working on a Montana 16 trailer for E3 as well as starting his own company, Table Flip Games.
Table Flip Games are currently working on the game Sure Footing, a fast and frantic endless running platformer about four friends saving their world from extinction. This will be released in 2018 on a wide range of platforms.
Matt teaches Computer Games Art at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge and has previously taught at both further and higher education institution in East Midlands and Yorkshire. In addition, he is an active video game ambassador for UK STEMNET; giving talks and workshops with primary, high school and college students.
